We at Childreach India were approached by two Students of The “Shri Ram School “ Moulsari Avenue ,Gurugram : Soumya Khera and Yajan Munjal for volunteering in our project “My School My Voice “and also to share with us their Green Initiative called Project “PAPERAZZI”.
They very much liked the concept of our STEM classes, and immediately volunteered to lead a session on this, with the students of our Jaitpur MCD schools. We planned the session on 8th May 2017. The day was filled with excitement and joy for children of class 4th from Jaitpur Primary School (My School My Voice, Project School). Soumya and Yajan came to spend their day with 30 children and engaged with them in different activities of STEM focused on science concepts like Motion, Sound and Plant Growth.
With very inexpensive material, they did create models to foster these concepts with the children. They made Balloon cars( with balloons, bottle caps, toothpick, straw and ice cream sticks) string phones( with paper cups and threads) and also talked to children about the importance of plants and shared with them a few saplings which they planted and talked about how they help purify the environment.
Children at the MCD School really had a good time and great learning. All Children had the chance to do the science experiments and really found the approach very interesting and engaging.
It was a Real delight to see students from One of the Top ranked Private school, Joining hands in sharing the learning’s with relatively less privileged children at the MCD schools , being part of their eco system without any boundaries. A true sight of inclusive education and collaborative learning.
They also shared their project “PAPERAZZI” with children of project school, the objective of the project of protecting the environment by recycling the waste paper and using it . The students at Jaitpur School took a Pledge
